Privateer Yacht Club was organized on July 25, 1940, in order to promote
sailing in the Chickamauga
Lake area and particularly in Chattanooga; to teach it's members to
talk the language of the sea and build
up a marine tradition for "The Great Lakes of The South"; to help promote
water safety and a code
of ethics for the waterways; to form a social and activity nucleus
for people in the area interested in sailing;
and to develop an active relationship with other sailing and boating
organizations to promote
racing and other boating activities.

Halloween Regatta
October 25 & 26, 2008
Don't miss this annual event. The Cruisers race on Saturday with main and jib only. The Dinghies race on Sunday with full sail. Break out your best Halloween costume for the Saturday night social. There will be some great prizes for the best costumes. This year the dinner will be an authentic German Dinner prepared by our own Britta Kindervater. There will also be some real German Beer served along with our usual American Beer and "Witches Brew". There will also be a door prize drawing for this event.
Racing $5 per day. Dinner $10.
