Tennessee Valley Challenge Cup

The Tennessee Valley Challenge Cup is an annual regatta held between teams
from six different sailing clubs located on the Tennessee River. The competition is divided into
three different fleets; spinnaker keelboat, non-spinnaker keelboat and dinghy class.  The scores of the top 3 finishers of each club are totaled and the club with the lowest overall score is the winner of the Challenge Cup.

The regatta is highly competitive.  In recent years it has been held on Wheeler Lake, but hosted on a rotating basis, by the member clubs.  Joe Wheeler State Park and Joe Wheeler Lake are by far the best venue for this annual event.   The lake is large, open, and usually has great wind.  The Park has great launch ramps and plenty of free transient dock space. The Lodge is very nice, reasonably priced and provides a great place for the Saturday night party.   Most of all, it's a great way for us to enjoy sailing in one of the most beautiful parts of the country, The Tennessee Valley.

Congratulations to Privateer Yacht Club for their win in the 2007 TVCC held on beautiful Wheeler Lake.
