Fleet 23 was formed in 1995 with 6 boats consisting of owners Rob Fowler, Ken Holmquist, John Rathjen, Richard Ralston, Bob Ives, and Bill Robertson.  The 1st 7.9 was brought to PYC by Allen Winger who later sold the boat to Richard Ralston.  We have lost 1 boat and gained 1 boat, and have had 1 other boat change hands since the fleet was formed.  We still consider Ken an "Associate Member" of the fleet since he traded his 7.9 for a 6.9.  Our fleet roster now consists of:

Our greatest claim to fame was in 1997 when Rob took a group of 7.9 skippers as crew, trailered his boat to Lake Norman and won the Midwinters regatta there.  His crew consisted of Ken Holmquist, Bob Ives, John Rathjen, and Bill Robertson.  Click here for a link to the article and scores from that regatta.

We believe that the S2 7.9 is the ideal boat for Lake Chickamauga.  It is fast, sails well in light air, points extremely well, and has enough room for an occasional overnight trip.  Check out the S2 7.9 Class Association Web site for more info about this boat.
